Nerd Text Translator turns English text into invented fantasy, science-fiction, and character voices through deterministic rules. It is built for creative play, not as a reference work for an existing fictional universe.
Project note 01
Purpose and audience
The project helps tabletop RPG players and game masters draft dialogue, fantasy and science-fiction writers explore character voice, and people make playful messages for friends. A useful result should suggest tone quickly while leaving the final creative choice with the person writing.
The translator is free to use, requires no sign-up, and runs through the project’s internal rule-based engine rather than an external translation or generative-AI service.

A method you can inspect
Each voice has a versioned profile containing dictionary entries, phrasebook lines, active grammar settings, sound transformations, style rules, and a strategy for words outside its vocabulary. The same input and selected voice produce the same result.
Our language-building method documents the real processing order, examples generated by the current engine, and configured fields that are not yet active.

What the tool cannot promise
Results are creative approximations. They are not official, canonical, academic, certified, or suitable for decisions that depend on linguistic accuracy. Transforming an unknown word can make it fit a voice’s sound without translating its meaning.

Project note 04
Correction policy
If a result is awkward, inconsistent, unclear, or too close to protected material, send the original input, selected voice, current output, and a short explanation. Suggestions are evaluated for internal consistency, usefulness, originality, and effects on other phrases before a versioned code change is made.
Automated checks help catch technical regressions, but they do not replace human judgment. We may revise vocabulary, rules, examples, or explanatory copy when a correction makes the tool clearer and more useful without implying official status.
