How the Pirate Translator Works

Pirate speech keeps standard English grammar completely intact — no word-order changes, no dropped articles. All the character comes from vocabulary and dialect: ye for you, cap'n for leader, grog for water, doubloons for money.

Unlike most languages here, Pirate never phonetically invents words for unknown input — it uses a 'preserve' strategy, leaving unrecognized terms exactly as typed. That keeps sentences readable even when your input strays outside nautical vocabulary.

Every sentence gets bookended with Arrr, and matey!, with medium-frequency apostrophes for contractions like cap'n and dramatic punctuation throughout, plus stock exclamations — Shiver me timbers!, Blimey! — dropped in for flavor.
